I like Uvex also, light and ze Germans make good quality, for a low price. Fits my head.

I did not like Rudi Zuma, you can have mine.

Bontrager and Bell did not fit me well

I think the people should add the shape of their head when they answer. I have a very round head. I think the Giro works better for oval head and it feels like Spez is better on a round head. Where does your brand fit in?

If you value your brains and have a bit of extra money these are the new MIPS helmets which protect the squishy stuff inside your skull much better.

Safety wise my R600 Bell's and Giro have saved my pip on numerous occasions including one where a concrete paving stone was lobbed at it, i don't know what more a much more expensive helmet could do other than maybe look cooler, but then i'm not a fashion fundi.

Found the article, in the latest ride magazine (with Dr Evil) on the front, there is a great review of a range of helmets, from R500 to R2000. Give it a read. Based on that I decided my next helmet is going to be a Bell.

Went on to the Rapid Sport site and couldn't find it. Only place I can find it is on Sportsworld's site for R550 which is still not too bad.

Then take a look at the ETTO, I have been very happy with it and so too have all the other people who have bought one.

Also, surely all helmets pass SABS standards whether they are R400 or R5000???
