I'll have a hard look in the mirror before i decide to take on the training and participation such an endurance event.

It'll take many hard looks.

What makes the Epic hard isn't just Prologue to Lourensford - it's the early mornings, the dented wallet, the demand for rest, nursing a sore body through adaptation, getting on with a partner, training blocks, more training blocks, and so on...

I imagine this as the enthusiastic amateur I am who'll be interested in finishing, not racing.

Okay so after chatting to a buddy of mine that finished the Epic this year, I think the OP might be on to something.

According to my pel, he cruised and still easily made it.

Had time to stop and talk k@k at all the waterpoints, stopped to take pictures 5 or 6 times per day and never once had to worry about not making it.

He is a big boy at around 95kg and trained around 6-8 hours a week for the epic.

So looks like if you have the $$$ you can get an Epic Medal.

And weekends ?

It depends how you look at your training, for me the week is Monday to Friday.

YOU WOULD BE ALONE EARPIE, I WOULD HOLD A POLL TO PROVE YOU WRONG, BUT 99% OF THE WORLD(U THE 1) KNOW A WEEK IS 7 DAYS MY 5 YEAR OLD IS ACTUALLY BUSY WITH IT AT THE MOMENT AT PRE SCHOOL

When is the last time you rode, you know the old saying ?

7 days without exercise makes one weak.
