Normally posts like these go wobbly with the blame at miss communication, I think with this must be the most clear cut .

(Before you start thinking what an utter moron, I have been going to the same LBS for over five years. I have bought my son a Bianchi there and my gardener two bikes. I trusted Cycle Science implicitly as the good person from Boksburg who got my old bike will attest. I didn't haggle or try and 'nickel and dime' them as the Americans would say.)

...

For me, this is the worst part. It makes my blood boil. You trusted and supported them for many years, yet they still had no problem in, for the lack of a better word, shafting a loyal customer. Zero sympathy for them!

I've missed a few pages, but is Carte Blanche doing a show/ investigation about this whole debacle?

Interesting to see there are no fake Cannondales on our china's websites.

Both of these are fake.

Happy Birthday Andrew! Out of this, i believe that many of us "normal" cyclists have learned a lot from this thread for when we next purchase a bicycle! For that, many thanks, and I hope you get a 91K birthday present!!!

Both of these are fake.

Where were these frames advertised Gummibear?

Agreed, the Evo definitely looks fake... The forks shape, the cabling and the BB look out of sorts.

On a Chinese site.

Aha... Were there not by any chance direct links to the CS site?

Regarding the bike spec; a friend and cycling partner of mine bought a fake Pinarello before me at Cycle Science. I said I wanted the same bike, except the electric Record whereas my friend got the manual Record, and I wanted the 'black on black' colour scheme.

!! ?? OOPS ??

So they gave you the same bike?

Did he know it was a fake?

If not what is he doing about it?

What it should look like.

How many people would spot the difference?

so….this is sooooo shocking to say the least!! Im sooo sorry for what happened, i too would not let this go and go legal route!!

On that note what the hell is a "grey import" when it come to this not being a real pinarello? Im my books its either real or not…so what is grey ? Correct me if I'm wrong please…?

If there's more than one case…. have them investigated .. also might be good idea to report to SARS for various reasons.. chance is if someones is doing that kind of business i wouldn't be surprised if they dodge their TAX also!!
