that was great. real shame about the mist as i have no idea what the scenery was like. i was totally soaked just warming up in it!

really enjoyed it anyway, the last couple climbs were way harder than the king of the mountain one. thank god coz the result would have been different for me if it had been on those!

ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT!!!

Good route, some killer climbs, and the best singletrack I've ridden in a long time.

Thanks Orgs, was a real treat.

Loved it, great ride! Good climbs, awesome single track. Serious damage to my Camelbak due to that tunnel we had to walk/crawl through...but otherwise brilliant day.

Singletrack was heaven. But I was in a group of about 50 riders, all bunched up and going nowhere fast. Spoiled my fun. Route def not suited to 600 riders. These races should all learn from PPA and devide the riders into smaller groups and further apart.

Awesome awesome awesome. Thanks to the org it was one of the best this year. This was a real warm big heart slow beer day.

Ps. Thx leona for getting me that entry at number 99.

Was really good fun. Hope the guys who came off the bridges are OK. It was a big fall in both cases I saw. But race was great fun, just a little congested on single track but maybe bigger gap between race starts would have helped.

Loved the route and was an awesome race. I wear prescription glasses so I couldn't see half of the time due to the mist clinging to my lenses  The single track sections was awesome but I fear I held up a few guys as it was difficult for me to see... I need to make a plan for contacts!!!

Thanks for a great race! Will be back next year.

Oh and the beer afterwards was heaven

Somebody told me once that MTB is an outdoor sport and that I should stop moaning and rather dress appropriately. I am glad that I listened to him today. It was an interesting day, from the massive about-turn at the start, the monster climbs, good singletrack, and the list goes on. The marshalls were very friendly, although sometimes confused as to which way we had to turn. I agree with everything else also mentioned above.

Just a shame about how some guys behaved on the trail. I know it is a race, but c'mon, we are also there to enjoy it. Some of the exclamations and rudeness were really uncalled for.

But fortunately there was very good beer to top it all off with!

Will definitely do it again next time.

Agreed, but again, it comes down to not letting 300 riders start in one batch with virtually no oppurtunities to pass. I let the 35 km winners pass, I pulled off and told about ten guys I was riding with to pull off and let them pass. Not even a thankyou from them. Next time I wont even bother. Race was nice. Not enough to see me next year.

Wolwefontein mtb track was brilliant. But saw alot of people falling. The falls i saw looked like it was all due to the cyclists going to fast in places that needed more caution (IMO). Will be back next year, and will go to visit during the year. Definitely worth the drive out to darling.

Awesome event! Was lucky to be in the front pack of the race so single track was not congested and damn glad I've went to Wolwefontein a couple of weeks ago just to familiarize myself with the single track as it help me a lot to ride within my ability but still push it safely, granted I did mess up a couple of times going of line but no crashes :P

I also do want to apologize to the guy in red if you are on here (I believe you were wearing a specialized outfit) whom I nearly cut off early in the race when changing lanes to avoid the water as I did not look back. We did some handlebar wrestling but both managed to keep it upright as I bailed on my lane change and went for a splash through the water instead and he managed to execute his pass

Very lekka indeed.Only two niggles for me.Starting late, and the ultimate turnaround few meters from start.Otherwise listed as my top event this year.Cannot wait till next year....

im not sure i understand what this passing issue is? i stood getting cold right up the front for ages (not complaining, if id been running late id have been very thankful they started late!) so i could get a good start only to have to turn round and chase from back to front. had no problems passing and by the time we got to the single track id made up most of the places id lost without killing myself. yeah the odd person was a bit slow but nothing too bad really. could have done without that tunnel :) sanded the top off my helmet
