best XC fork

What would you guys consider as the best XC fork available under 1.4 kgs for a guy of about 80-85 kg's

Go for a Marzocchi, they have revived the 32mm stanchion diameter XC forks... nothing could be better...

 

maybe at your weight you should be less concerned about how light it is?

fox terralogic,might be just over or rock shock sid,just check how much weight it can take,im anout 70-73 and am bit skeptical of it

the reba is nice with the pop lock thing,rode a recon few years ago with that recon and it was really nice

The Pace, now being sold under DT Swiss' name is the lightest available, isn't it? It's a carbonfibre suspension fork. Very light, very expensive and apprantly needs regular and proper services.

Oom Poepoog - wonder net hoeveel ouens gebruik nie 'n lockout nie, net omdat hulle vergeet om hom weer oop te maak .......... was al daar en het die (geskeurde) fietsry hemp!

Manitou R7 MRD, around 1.3kg, manual lockout. There is a carbon version I think but not sure if it actually shaves any weight. New SID is not bad - but around 1.43kg?

One of our new Carbon Hartail BH's came with a Terralogic Fork from Fox, and my word, it's the bomb. Don't think, just ride... perfct for the sort of tracks we ride on. Takes a bit of getting used to though... like not being able to load before a jump... almost had a big spill down the spruit when i first used it

BB, that's the age !!!!  And anyway, my lockout (on my REBA) "blows" when the lockout is on and I hit a bump.

I ride an F100X with terralogic and I love it but ja takes a bit of getting used to. Again as Popeye says it's personal opinion, some love it some hate it!

Terralogic is no longer available from Fox, but they do have something even better for 09. Fox forks are great, reliable, but not necessary the lightest. If you looking for a lightweight XC fork - either DT or Manitou.

How do you know what that Reba does you've hardly ridden with it, nowhere it needed to blow at N/farm ............

bigben, I love the pop-lock.

 

 

 

going uphill, forgot to lock it out, no time to leave hand to lock, damm ...on the Reba Race Sl, just use your thumb and its locked.
