Can you elaborate on the service request? The Gold service which he is being quoted for is a full strip down service of the bike and rebuild. Not just an external service, all linkages checked bearings etc etc. I can post a full breakdown if you are interested. We believed that costing this at R950 was market related especially as we have invested heavily in providing a high quality workshop experience.

Also we believe our shock servicing prices to be reasonable however as always we are open to feedback.

Your prices are certainly better than the spez workshop! (for a giant dual sus... ).

No, those are reasonable prices for a full service on an FS bike. As is the shock service price. Even the bleed price is pretty okay.

Ive already sent them a PM to give me breakdown of cost, as he rides a HT bike. Will hear what they have to say and respond then.

But i do agree that the bleeding of the brakes is not a bad price

i enjoyed watching all the yuppies booking their bikes in for a wash and lube at 80 ronds a hit !!! WTF !!! are there still people out there that can't do this themselves.

This is so hilarious! I find it relaxing washing my own bike.

My son asks me R15 to wash my bike. Lube is free with the wash. No need to ask who pays for the actual consumables.
I'm obviously getting things wrong as its me that cleans my sons bike before getting into the kitchen and feeding the little bugger.

Must start running an account for him.

I've also had a good experience with this store. In December I was looking for an Indoor Trainer. Priced it at another cycle shop first and was on my way to buy when I went past CycleLab...thought I might as well go in and check price.

CL were a couple hundred ZAR more expensive...I said to person assisting me "If you match the price I'll buy it here." He went away to check with manager / more senior employee....5min later they matched the price and I walked out with an IDT.

I bought some Thule load bars second hand and 2 of the plastic end caps were broken. I dropped in at CL and asked if they stocked the part, to which the answer was no but we will phone Thule.

Long story short, Mpho arranged for the end caps, which fit on load bars that aren't listed in the catalogues anymore, and then didn't charge me the courier fee which we agreed I would cover.

Big up to Mpho and CL, thanks for the great service.
