On a more seriaas note, I don't think the search history reflects the adverts.

I am seeing ads for stuff I never surf, i get a feeling these spammers find trigger words such as "insurance" "photography" "cars" "tits" and whatever else we talk about.

 

you are 100% right - it primarily focuses on the content at hand - so if the topic is about what car to buy...you will see adverts being pushed related to cars etc...however....I am pretty sure that google does do some analysis on your browsing history to target it further...BUT...you need to be signed into google for it to gather all that information - I am not sure how many actual sign into google in their browser - I do as a matter of interest because i am only a little bit fazed about privacy...@cellar on the other hand will not be signed into google i bet..in fact he probably spoofs another google account via Morocco.

All jokes aside I've had a few PMs from others who've seen similar things on The Hub.

 

While it's true that Google ads will reflect your search history along with the subject of this site, you should not be seeing any remotely pornographic ads via any of the legitimate advert zones on The Hub.

 

If anyone else has been seeing "odd" ads on The Hub please send me a PM with some details:

- Where on the site, classifieds, forums etc? (or a specific page)

- When did it start?

 

The most likely scenario is that the computers in question are infected with some kind of malware. If it was a common problem we'd have had many many more reports from users about this.
