Can anyone help...have tried to enter the 70 but my Internet bombed half way through. The advendurance site says to login to complete my entry, but this doesnt work. The contact form also doesnt confirm that they have received my mail. Does anyone have a contact number for them? Or email addy?

Maybe private message Wessel who started this thread ? He's usually quick to respond.

Mine did similar, you must create a login and password, when you log in you will see if your entry has been confirmed or not, it will also show your satus (paid or not)

Ok got new RD so I am back in the game. Minus my planned training sessions.

I broke a chain and RD in 3 off road sessions. Am I doing something wrong or is it just dumb luck.

bad shifts maybe...as in shift under heavy tension. Might just be luck though

There is nothing soft about walking that satellite descent. Really NOTHING embarrassing.... Will be walking it for a third year now......

I know i am supposed to walk it on the left, but its kinda safer and easier to walk on the right ..... Apologies up front lads and lasses!

Agree, that if you see your koek on that descent its hospital time...out for months...I normally ride the first 100 meters or so, but the rest, aikona....over and above the traffic that you are fighting, you really dont want to fall there. Actually surprised its not a portage like that one section in the monster.

Anyhow

2012's satellite descent was bad, had to portage it, last years was all ride able...

albeit i was on my dual... this year, hmm... better start talking nicely to the HT to make it believe it's a dual. ;)

From what I can see from Google Earth on the route map, that section is the same as last year, not that hectic technical descent, of 2012 and previous editions.

Last year that included a floating bridge. No mention of that this year. Water might be a bit chills for those who don't make it, and a few didn't. Slowing down was there off-coming.
