CF Moto have a great price point 450 twin, that looks good and by all reports is a ripper of a bike.

Current shipment just landed in SA.

They see these here cheap with long warranties. Resale value is non existent but who cares if you like the bike. They look good for sure.

Andymann, how did the "Fairest Cape Tour" go? Seems like a good turnout, and weather seemed to be in your favour.

19th Overall

156 second penalty on day 1 and 172 second penalty on day 2 for a total error of 328 seconds.

The highlight being Monday evening where my Wife and I blasted up Baineskloof with my Dad's ashes blowing out behind us in he wind - exactly as he would have wanted it!

And then on day 2 coming up Baineskloof chasing an MGA driven by someone who clearly knew what they were doing!  I gave up in the end and pulled off for a breather

Glad it went well, and that you could get to give your Dad a suitable farewell, as he would have it.

Got a spec or two of dust in my eyes from the house 4 blocks up the road doing renovations just when I read that line about the ashes.

What is the best mx bike

1st post on a cycling forum to ask What is the best mx bike...  Ok, I'll bite.  You are going to get a number of responses, based on each persons' opinion and personal experience.

Based on results in the SA MX racing scene, it would be tough to argue that KTM is not the best, with championship wins in most of the contended classes for the past few years.

I have several bikes that I am keen to add to my perhaps less than modest collection. I would welcome comments from you guys as to what you may think. I am totally out of the market for things like Honda CB 1100 RC/D etc and Aprilia RS250.
I delayed on a Yamaha RD350 recently and now it is gone…….perhaps my moment has past.

Currently enquiries are in for a Ducati 748 in the striking yellow paint job to sit alongside the 749 Dark and gorgeous red 1098.
Beyond that I am after a small Ducati Monster, 600 perhaps, perfectly formed and pretty.  A KTM 950/990 as not small and still perfectly formed.
A Yamaha XT from 500 to 600 and even better a 750 twin.
An Aprilia RSV 1000 twin as not small, still perfectly formed and a gorgeous addition alongside the 1098 Ducati for modest cost.

Anyways, here is a pic of what may well be the Christmas present to my long suffering wife……..after all…….she did say the next bike must be a yellow Ducati…..this is the best I can do.IMG_1333.jpeg.b215c912ebee863a423aa5a963116332.jpeg

Gets my vote. I was seriously lusting after one a while ago and that subsided a bit but now it’s growing again. Grrrrrr. And it has to be yellow. Kind of told myself to hold off motorcycle purchases u til the new v2 street fighter is launched. We wait n see.

there is an XT500 ,1979 model here on eBay. 11 grand and it’s done a total of 196 miles in its life . A short while ago there was a pristine silver 1979 model for 12 grand. Expensive bikes.

nice present….jealous.

Don’t be jealous, I just bought her a Giant Trance as she struggles with the little Titan hard tail. I am trying to get her into this MTB malarkey with some comfort, my old Titan was an interesting buy. I had a Soma steel hard tail  frame and bought a complete Titan with Shimano XT so I could remove that to my Soma and swapped out marginally lessor components to the Titan frame. The Giant full susser will be her  Christmas pressie……………the Ducati will be for me ha ha!
