Hat off to Hero (Dflip) yesterday - honourable behaviour taking the high ground IMO.   Bike it in yesterday for the guards to just stare at me.  Asked me if the guards stopped me to pay the R30 to which I answer no and then asked politely to pay R50 to cover the conservatory and ride fees.

Hi Guys,

Just a few pointers.

We are receiving many complaints re the state of the mountain bike trails on Heia and my neighbouring properties. Please note that Hero is responsible for this maintenance and is clearly not honouring this commitment. We apologise for this and can only give you the assurance that as soon as we take over the trails, we will be putting all of our energy into this project, and you will all be blown away with what we have planned.

Then as trekpostal posted above. Please note that if anyone from Hero tells you that any of the money they are receiving is going towards a Conservancy fee, they are lying. We have no contact with them and they have made no payment of any nature to us in 9 months. So trekpostal, hats off to you for sponsoring their business.

You will then also see that we are paving the Heia driveway. This is costing us over R1m, an investment that I am hoping to try and recover over the next 10 years of cyclists.

Also please note that the Cradle Moon rhino introduction project is on track, and that you may well encounter a rhino soon on the Red route, just to keep that adrenalin flowing.

Thanks

Andy Dolt you seem like a class act. Your whiny posturing does remind me of a certain US presidential candidate(who sports a nasty comb over) and has no qualms stooping into the gutter anytime he wants to get his own way without winning it fairly.

If that is the case...well done trekpostal....you paid the money to the HERO who actually maintains the trails and have been working their butts off..

Now I will know that should someone from HERO ask me for the trail riding fee, I can pay the fee and give him a nice tip as well.

@Andy - how sure are you introducing a Rhino..ie 1.5t of damn fast meat, into a trail is such a bright idea... How many Rhino petting zoo's have you seen lately?

As many others I also like spending time in nature and enjoy seeing some animals whilst riding...but not animals that are territorial and testosterone driven...

IMO you are inviting a fatality onto your property...but hey...maybe blame HERO for this as well and then have the Rhino shot..

I think someone should look into the BEE status of your little empire . . . .

Saw the Rhino move coming when I first heard about the Rhino arriving on the property.

as stated earlier, I do not drink beer nor sit around a table with the likes of Andy Dott.

No matter how often he mentions what he spends on what.

Dott you really are a piece of work. When it comes to the trails I believe you are the "Johnny come lately".

You doing all you can to bad mouth Hero instead of work with them!!

Stop carrying on about the bloody paving and your previous name dropping. It doesn't mean a rats arse to anyone.

Why not work with Hero on the trails?Cyclists go there for the trails...not to admire your paving.

As for the Rhino...do explain more??

Why did it not bother you before this circus started ? Don't complicate the matter with political cr@p ! What is next ? Do you want a sponsored " development team " as well ?

I would have thought having a rhino on a route (unless with game rangers?) would be a bit of a liability issue should something happen to a cyclist ?

I fear this is not going to end well. So until this is resolved I will fight it with resistance de passief and not ride the trails there. I think Hero better off developing elsewhere and cutting their losses.
