I get the impression Ikons are one of those 'love them or hate' tyres. I had a bad experience but some have had good experiences .....

What happened bennie?

I had to plug one...but it was a piece of glass...so ya. Reliable imo

I think all(most) Maxxis tyres are reliable, I would rather have a heavier tyre but I know it will bring me home than save 50g and patch it on the trail.

Also happy with ikons

checks all the boxes....crossmark are boat anchors but bulletproof

So durability is more important to you....crossmarks

If weight is....ikons

You cannot have your cake and eat it

Weight weenies of today....

You'd better hope skillzzzz does not see this thread boet. The Ikon hate is strong.

Ikon = 645g

Crossmark = 835g

So that means a total saving of 380g if you fit ikons over crossmarks....also its rotational mass....

380g = Pie and a half.

Rotational mass story is mostly bogus. Weight is weight.

aikona oompie....getting heavy rubber to "spark" is moelik.

Only acceleration from standing start and even then its only 10% of 10%. Story for another day.

2 punctures on one ride that wouldn't seal even after plugging and one has 'delaminated' .........

And my laaitie says they corner crap on the front but he rides a lot harder than me :ph34r:

there you go....solve. Or just buy Ikons :ph34r:

This is easier to understand for noobs like me. Dotted line above x-axis = lighter wheels is faster while dotted line below x-axis means aero is faster

How about the Ardent Race at 720g. Tougher than the Ikons and better grip than the Crossmaks?

Well if I train with crossmarks my legs would be stronger and when I race I will fit the Ikon so that I will be faster... Hahaha. I would rather take that pie and a bietjie than that crappy racing ralphs I am currently running...
