Thanks tunariaan. It must be quite scenic also given the location?

Very scenic..but on race day you dont really look around

You take your eye of the road for i second on the decents and you will fall yourself out of the race

Im hoping for sub 6 and if i can train enough..sub 7:30 on SS

If you can do a sub 6 on a geared bike you can do sub 7 on a SS.

Lets see how training goes.

I will do that route twice as a pre ride over dec

I didn't know the route is open for pre-rides. Can you ride this any time of year? Do you need permits for the nature reserves?

Have been offered a free entry - what to do!? Just finished DC so feel I have the endurance training to complete this if I put the hammer down over the holidays...

With all due respect, DC is a fun ride compared to Attakwas.

Agreed, Atta (for me) is much harder than Trans Baviaans as well.

**** that is funny. Somehow the last 30 kms in Attakwas always screw me over. This year my best at 6.47. Next year single speed.

For all the SS riders out there what gear selection are you going with? I am pretty set on 34-19.

I used a 34/18, was wayyyyyee too big .
