How technical is the route? I read about district roads etc.

Am very keen to do this, but MTB skills not tip top.

17 January marks exactly 10 years since I was diagnosed with Leukemia at age 18.  What a way to celebrate!! Gonna be a hurtbox all day I think, will be my first one.

 

Have done Trans Baviaans a number of times, so will be keen to see how it fairs in comparison.  By the sounds of it, much tougher which more than makes up for the shorter distance.

The route is not technical, but the first half is very, very rugged in places.  Very rocky jeep track climbs and rocky jeep track descents.  So in a way it is technical, but you don't have to be a skills extraordinaire to ride the route.

The descent going down to Bonniedale (WP3) is very technical. I had to walk the last 50m or so this year. Other than that it is all very rideable.

4kgs heavier than last year and more undertrained ((( 8 hours of pain 16 days away, hope the weather plays along and its not to hot

Gonna be a tough day. Looking forward though. Did put in some good hours but think still not enough. Oh well.
