Hi Fand

Yes it does take rider weight into account...here is a rough explanation of how it determines your speed on a course

Rider weight + Bike Weight + current slope = Speed

This means that your wheel might be spinning at 20km/h but your output speed on the screen is 15km/h as an example. This makes it as fair as possible on everyone. Now of course people can cheat the system and input a weight of 55kg whilst they eating away on pies, but they only cheating themselves. My bike weight and physical weight exactly matches what they are in real life

ah ok - thats pretty fair tho.

If someone is that desperate to beat their mates in an online race they they enter their weight as 20kg, then they're only fooling themselves

funny i never even considered it until i think, one of the guys who dont have a power beam suggested cheating would be possible, the STD bike weight they use as refrence is 10kg, i didnt even think to change it to my actual bikes weight, there is a few kgs there,

I have quite the opposite in mind: I want to get a computer whizzkid to add weight to these racing snakes' setup, and maybe detract a few (hundred?) watts. Watsup tonight? (can't believe I just asked that).

Hey guys

I am very taken by this thread and have been looking for an Indoor Trainer for a while now and this is the route i want to now go. Unfortunately I can not get the Powerbeam set up as i have a wedding coming up and that expense wont slip by my fiancee, she has however agreed to the Jetfluid Pro set up special running at the moment.

So I want to get some feedback from the guys that are riding the races and general training routes on trainers that are not resistance controlled, how have you faired compared to the rest of the guys that are using powerbeams etc? Have you found the workout to be accurate interms of keeping up with there pace on slopes etc?

Hopefully be joining in on a few races soon

If I had to go through entire process again and for whatever reason was slightly short on cash for the powerbeam then I would rather save up to get it. This is just me though. I have 2 friends with jetfluid pro and they are more than happy but they do not intend to use it for virtual training.
