In the past three days I have seen a police roadblock with an E-Toll caravan in attendance on a freeway on-ramp.

Sunday was the on-ramp from Allandale onto the N1 south in Midrand, Monday was the on-ramp where the R59 North joins the N12 West and yesterday was the on-ramp where Comaro street (headign North) joins the N12 West (which is 1 junction along from the R59 roadblock on Monday). Both are on the Southern Bypass.

Question is, what powers do these guys have?

I have a valid drivers license and the bakkie I drive is taxed and roadworthy but does not belong to me. There are outstanding e-toll bills against the bakkie which the owner of the bakkie (my girlfriend) has no intention of paying.

I have visions of them having a credit card machine in their caravan and trying to make me use it! lol

Extend you right hand and politely offer them the bird.

This has been on twitter for a while now. Check @jpsa for info. The Sanral vehicles are present as it detects false or cloned plates. The officers present are not allowed to ask about etags as the "roadblock" is only to find falsified plates

Was also wondering about wtf they doing. Travelling daily from vanderbijpark to all over jhb with no e-tag and one helluva e-account.
