The GPS works brilliantly as it makes a noise when you are 20m off route that gets your attention. It will be hard to get lost yes, but there is still a possibility especially on day 3. On day 3 following tracks will not be possible as those roads are so smooth that you barely even leave a track when you go through there.

I did JHB2C and the only day where I had to pay proper attention was on the final day. The other sani days is very difficult to get lost to be honest.

This Sani for me is going to be about muscle memory (unfit) and visual memory (no GPS). Could be fun ...

Briiiiiing it. I can't frikkin wait.

GPS loaded. Jagermeister packed. Some other stuff too I think.

Also - I have space for 1 person in my car going from Benoni to the start on Tuesday morning. I know someone was asking...

My usual "don't be a dick" rule applies to all lift applicants.

The Sani is already going down as the one where riders are more stressed about GPS than fitness, myself included.

Hopefully the new obsession with a little GPS unit on your handle bars doesn't detract from the beauty of the route ...

Pretty difficult to get lost with a hundred rider starting per batch!

More stressed about the crack we discovered last night on the rear swing arm than I am about GPS, fitness or health.

Running 260km alongside your partner is a damn difficult ask

Come down sooner and do day 0 on Tuesday... :P

I'll already be on the way to the sea on Wednesday.

Don't suppose either of you are leaving after 9:30 and can fit me in? Will happily contribute petrol and a playlist or 2

Just uploaded the GPS data to the garmin - how easy is the breadcrumb thing to follow?

(I have never trusted a breadcrumb trail in the past - more likely to get eaten by birds than get you home safely.)

Also my Garmin tells me I last cycled on the 12 April  it's going to be a long painful 3 days.
