What? No steak egg and strips on a Friday

I did my apprenticeship at Unilever in the early 90's. Lunch "hour" was 45 minutes. We used to sneak to the change rooms a couple minutes early to get changed. Clock at 12pm sharp, race to the Winston, order a jug, steak egg and chips, watch a show or two, inhale the food and beer and then haul ass back to Maydon Wharf to be back on site by 12:45pm!

Joe Cools on the Durban Promenade in the 90's. Many a litre was consumed there on a weekend! Jugs of beer at the Berea Inn after tech during the week (should have spent more time at the afternoon tutorials instead....) Lunchtime at the Winston. Student night at Sand Pebbles on a Tuesday night. That little underground place called Ruby Tuesday close to LTP. Ports was another beachfront club. The Scrapyard, CC's... So many memories!

Oh yeah sand pebbles and Joe Cools if you were going for a more 'commercial' jol in Durbs. And what about Roxys in Pretoria...I got chucked out of there for swiping other people's dops. Hey, I was a poor cyclist (and underage), what was I supposed to do?? haha.

Joe Cools and Sand Pebbles ring a bell. My sister used to go to both way back when, she also used to jol at The Med, but she is 8 years older than me. Went to Joe Cools once in my early 20's for a few dops.

There was a happy hour trifecta all in a row around there. Monks from 6-7, Med from 7-8 and then Pig and Whistle from 7:30 - 8:30.

After that you went to the Med and rocked out till the early hours of the morning, finishing the night off with a 1/4 beans from MacDougal's takeaway in West Street

Apparently Truth is still rocking in Midrond....kind of tempted to pull in and be the creepy old dude lurking in the corner perving at all the hot young chicks...

I'm not sure you can say it is 'rocking' since they don't play any rock... ;)

I was that creepy old dude in December. Least I was with other people so the creepiness was shared, haha.

Will definitely bring at least a wingman and my wife. She looks young and hot so that will probably enable the creepiness a bit more ha ha ha

That was partly my problem as well.

The chick I was with, her friend, and the friend's boyfriend  were younger than me; and even then, we were probably the 4 oldest people in the club, haha.

Plus being super tall makes me have the appearance of leering over everyone... :P

A couple of weeks back I went to an Athletics Meeting at the school where my wife works to say hi.  I went on my Velocette Cafe racer because I thought it would be cool. I discovered there is a fine line between a cool guy on an old bike and an old creepy guy on an old bike.  I suspect i was the latter.....
