yea, the rest of the spruit is pretty open, the main issue with that treeline is where it comes close to the walking path and its pretty blind do to foliage leading up to it.....dogs especially run all over and I lets face it....you will kill a stoepkakkertjie one time if you hit it at speed. Can you imagine how ape the aunty will go if killed her yorkie....

Iz OK, just remind said old lady that it was HER responsibility to keep the much-loved little yapper on a leash...and that she is solely responsible for the AGONISING DEATH of sweet little Yorkster...Also, it helps to calm things down if you offer ZAR50 towards funeral costs for the pooch that has passed on...

wahahhaha I hear you, but no doubt the uproar of the aunty will cause joberg parks to ban both dogs and bicycles. And then everyone looses...

That might not be wise, as it's also your reponsibility not to ride you bike there: https://community.bikehub.co.za/topic/141537-off-leash-dogs-emmarentia/

The park is divided into different sections - so some of the areas do allow bikes, some are no bikes, and in some sections no dogs are allowed. I believe there is even a section where dogs are allowed off the leash.

Doesn't the answer lie with Strava ? :D

More riders and a segment on the downhill therefore it's conclusive that no one is allowed to ride the tree line uphill. :o

Its a public park not a bike park....

Not really, we can ride through the cemetery over the road to the funeral of the Departed Dearly Beloved Brakkie. We can also perfirm one of those US military-style funeral corteges BUT with bicycles, not limo's (WHITE gloves only)...ChukKy can be master of ceremonies...

good grief....

some time ago, I can't remember who or which thread, someone asked why people have such an issue against folk who ride the spruit... the answer lies embedded in this thread I think.
