When did they first advise that the TUE was denied?

I applied on the 21st Feb, Was put under the impression with corresponding blood results, full medical report from GP and the permission from TUE administrator to proceed with treatment while application was in process. It was then declined on the 21st April.... I had taken my last testo shot on 7th April, But what you must remember is the testo I took will return a positive test for 6 months...Now for a rider that's tested twice a month it would be stupid to use this type of testo but it was for a specific reason as it very slow and gradual testo elevator, I believe they give to woman to balance hormones (but not a doc). Then I replied and said sherbet I have taken this testo as per your advice and she said don't worry just see endocrinologist and if they deem ok they will motivate the treatment plan... I mentioned that I was worried about testing positive in all the races from End of Feb till end of April and not once did the TUE administrator once dispute that she gave me such advice.. (quite involved)

Ironic how the doper is now the hero

I am no hero... My cycling career is over, but I want people to try believe that sometimes people try do the right thing and things go wrong and the public and sponsors see the sport in a negative light.... I have done damage and only want to repair it for the good of the sport... and the pro riders in SA.....,I WILL PAY FOR MY OWN MISTAKES EVERYDAY FOR THE NEXT 2 YEARS FOR MY WRONG DOINGS>>>>>> So don't think I am trying to be a hero.....

Some real knob jockeys on here, seems mr Sworks20 / pantani needs a pomp. If you have leftovers of your muti you can donate to him so he can chill a bit.

I can't say I would have done things differently myself if I was in your situation though other than have things in writing.

Hi Talus, When my first application was denied they should have just told me to stop racing and I would have!!!! But there was no communication from them whatsoever, not once did anyone say hey you have made a mistake here... BEARING IN MIND TOOK THE TESTO IN FEB AND ABOUT 6 TESTS FROM THEN TILL JULY WHICH ALL CAME BACK NEGATIVE, THATS WHAT GAVE ME THE IMPRESSION IT WAS ALL OK??? THEN 7TH JULY OUT OF COMP TEST. 9TH JULY GET INFORMED FINAL APPLICATION FOR TUE DECLINED AND INFORMED 31STOCTOBER 2013 HAD POSITIVE TEST....

Hi Brandon. I can follow the whole saga and understand how it unfolded. My point is that although you have been sanctioned already the argument is still about whose responsibility it is to do what. I don't think you can expect an Admin person should give an answer that is medically complicated and normally handled by a committee. I also have made it clear that I don't think it was your intention to be underhanded because Nebido would be the most moronic drug EVER to use (not to mention the extreme cost). I DO think that it was clear to you that you were sailing close to the wind. Maybe you tested positive in the earlier tests but they were awaiting the outcome of your application. We all know Nebido builds up over time and it could be that you only reached threshold later. Either way you as competitor would be pissed off if the other guys were allowed to race without the documentation needed (and beating you). I think your 2 years should run from the last day you raced competitively for that reason. I think you can bring a lot to the table if you were to help the system to get answers rather than blame the system that theoretically tried to protect you as racer.

Hi Brandon. Greg here. Question... You as a professional rider should know how dangerous/risky/silly it is to take any substance that is prohibited without your sponsors or their lawyers 100% behind you. This is the part I don't understand. If they knew surely they would be supporting you. I can't imagine that your main sponsor would leave you high and dry if they were up to date with your actions and or problems. Surely as soon as you had any problems they should have been your first port of call.

Hi Greg my sponsors knew everything I informed them from when I first took the medication. They have stood by me and the riders and they have paid there contracts till the end of the year, but unfortunately it was Daryl Impey's case and other issues related to cycling that made it a difficult situation to be in...Our sponsors have not left us high and dry.... Cant give full detail but the team is over with immediate effect. The situation is what it is and sponsors get a great return on investment from professional mountain biking but its the continuous negative comments from the general public, riders and slip ups. FedGroup and ITEC have been amazing to us.

Hi Brandon Hero, do you have boobs ?

This brings me to my next serious question

Did the testo give you a little boost in the room if you know what I mean?

Talus without getting into to much detail you have a VERY valid and constructive opinion... To be honest I know other guys personally on the same treatment who have applied for a TUE.... But all this I now know after the fact... In the WADA code when it comes to sanctions specifically states that it you declared substance before testing positive named doctor and what you used and where you got it from should help reduce sanction. Even if I had got a reduced sanction the sponsors would have probably stayed in the sport. You 100% correct that's why test only showed up later because must gone over threshold.... Not 100% certain...
