I wonder if I'll be starting at 9:45 or 10:00  The suspense isn't exactly killing me.

Decided to do the Argus with my wife last year as it was her first. Started at 9;40. My start time was6:30. The extra 3 hours waiting made me realise that the Argus is for everyone. Just as the snakes and medium oakes wait for the gun, the slower okes also have butterflies. Man did I actually enjoy the ride last year, no pressure of time. The only worry I had for her was the STUPID IDIOTS that thought they were all Lance Amstrong. Cant keep a line, speed or distance.  The 6 hours on the bike was time well spent with the Misses. Got moerse brownie points for riding with her. :whistling:  :w00t:. Good luck to all and may the wind stay in PE that day.

Hi All

I'm new to the forum, hope my message is appropriate and to the point.

I recently injured my back. I started training again but to no avail, my back isn't recovering and I won't be able to ride the Argus in a month's time. I released my ticket for substitution yesterday. The substitution fee is R230 plus the price of my ticket (which is lower than the original price).

If there are any people that are interested, please let me know.

Refer to the website below for info on the substitution entry:

Kind regards,

David

Hard luck,

Hello David,

You will get much more attention if you post the details of the Entry in the link below. Please only include the amount you would like back from the sale of your ticket! You do not have to include the substitution fees as those will be paid to the Cycle Tour Trust. (Oh and as per cycletour rules you cannot charge more than what you paid for it, in case those ideas start popping up... )

Welcome to the site and recover well!

Well I don't expect a good seeding. I had a really **** Argus and 94.7 last year due to under training and over eating.

Since the 94.7 I put some really good training in and drop some kilo's. If the wind is descent I hope to do a PB, which will be sub 3h10. It will be a challence to do that from L or M probably. Hope for a better seeding though.

The most enjoyable Argus I ever did, was with my dad, about 5 years ago.  He had a real nasty crash that kept him off the bike and on a slow rehab for a few years. I rode his "comeback Argus" with him at age 70.We started at about 10h00 and besides the fact that it was a special thing for the 2 of us, I truly enjoyed the vibe at the tail end of the race. I have since done it again with my own boys, for their first ones, both on a tandem and in "team DJR" and will do it again at the drop of a hat.
