I know a guy who went for implants.

There were complications and he lost a leg.

True story.

If you can use your legs, say a prayer and go for a ride.

One of my drinking buddies from Empangeni  told me that Arnold Swarzwekindrewulf also used to have small calves; check we're not alone!

He 'apparently' then used to smoke some 'DP' prior to his work-out where he only concentrated on calve-raises, lifting like 2 ton at a time...impractical in your situation I know!

DP?

Yeah to an extent, but I do think calves are genetic as well.

My daughter asked me despairingly why, of all my qualities, she had to inherit my calves. Or rather cows as people refer to them.

Calves are genetic,

but you can make them bigger.

Most people do large reps, they are used to that.

Go to a gym and do the heaviest possible weights you can 2 times a week in short bursts.

It does work and has for me although you aint gonna get things people stare at.

My calves are bigger now and i have lost weight(muscle mass).

Calves are nortoriusly difficult to make bigger. You are either born with big ones or small ones. Ask any bodybuilder.

I understand this is the position not only with calves :whistling:

Everyone also always says genetics.

Are you sure they are bigger and they don't just seem bigger with the loss of your muscle mass?

Weighted calf-raises to fail followed by stretching, then repeat, helps a bit. This stretches the muscle fascia allowing more growth.

The downward motion is more beneficial than the up, which just contracts/shortens the muscle. If you overdo it calves can become very supsceptible to tearing, which will play havoc with most sports. Try raises on two legs and down on one only.
