A mate of mine has had 2 frames replaced by Momsen.

First was his son's alu hardtail that cracked and as they had no stock they offered him a carbon frame at a huge discount.

Second was his own alu dual-sus that cracked and was replaced within a week.

I have however heard quite a few of these horror stories aswell so I am still undecided on my next purchase.

We have two other big brand dealers in town aswell namely Scott and Merida and I have heard nothing bad about either of them.

My 2c.

If a frame develops a serious defect (such as a crack), which is not due to rider fault, the manufacturer/dealer should replace the frame at no cost to the customer.

My wife had a 2013 carbon Stumjumper that developed a small crack in the frame. Specialized replaced the frame with a 2014 model (at no cost) and had the bike returned within 5 working days - now that was after-sales service!

There goes any Momsen order I was considering. I can vouch for the Merida service mentioned. They were excellent. Either go for the Merida or a Titan which is an amazing bike and distributed by Merida.

They are pretty awesome. I'm sorry I sold my carbon 29er.

If I had the time I would take the legile route but that will probably take 3 months

. I have gone 3 weeks without riding and the Karoo 2 coast is next week, accomadation paid for me and the family.

That sucks, any LBS willing to lend the man a hand in need. Would score your shop huge Brownie points. Hope you get sorted.

If this is the whole story then they deserve to be flamed.

Have to agree, that is piss poor backup.

Agreed, would love to hear Momsen's side of the story. I will probably still be looking for a bike for the GF later this year, rather not going to consider Momsen.
