Rand Water Race for Victory

I am always mildly amused at the 'my legs came back to me later in the race' comments ..... they didn't come back to you, the guys and girls (some strong ladies out there not scared to take their turn :o )that you 'wheelsucked' all the way were getting a little tired and no it's not fair but whateva blows your hair back *rant of the day over*

Started in FL (both of us on red Specialized Tarmacs) and had promised to help my boet, who has not been able to do much training due to some personal issues, to get through it as best we could. Protected him (and a couple of others but no stress) as much as I could but as we just passed the circus he cramped badly in his right thigh so we had to stop ..... it did ease up and luckily not that much further to go so just took an easy spin to the finish.

Had to laugh at one of the comments from the group as they passed 'and you were doing so well', dude I was suffering big time ;)

Always a well organised race and just down the road from home so will be back time and time again (think I've now done about 11)

Did the 54km on my mtb with knobblies, absolutely enjoyed the ride(damn you have to spin like a maniac to keep up with the roadies, as well as deal with the added resistance of the knobblies), found a fellow mtb noob battling along and decided to ride with him and help him with some good old moral support. Got a puncher with 2 km to go. Landed up walking across the finish line due to the air just leeching out of my tires every time i tried pumping it up.

Awesome part of doing the ride on my mtb, time in saddle and my cadence remained the same at all times(wish i could get this right with my road bike).

And Awesome drinks and medal at the end.

DAMN, when the mountain bikers are getting punctures following the gravel section, you must know its hectic!

Hectic!

So you crashed, broke your collarbone and still got back up to finish? You are a legend!!!

Pretty much. At the time I was not sure if it was broken, saw my time was 2h46 and figured I should just get back up and finish, I could still break 3hours I thought.

But now I am suffering, the bone actually broke in half. So now sitting in hospital waiting for them to plate it.

I think mine was actually a piece of glass when i stopped on the verge of the grass waiting for the other chap to catch up.

btw the Thread has been opened

Yes, there is an event from the race track tomorrow, low key ..80 km's ...it was meant to start from council offices but I see its been moved. Same crowd that do the events from Stonehaven.

Has everyone's PPA seeding index been updated to reflect their R4V result? Mine hasn't yet and I would have expected it to be updated by now...

I stand to be corrected but I think they only update that every 6 months.

As long as it's taken into account for my 94.7 seeding they can take as long as they want :D

AGREED... I need that result for a seeding
