Am I the only one that thinks this is a mountain out of a molehill? It looks like the person who made it is commenting on the state of things rather than making fun of people getting hit by cars.

Yes, the point is that you can see this pic from many angles. But because of that it is also able to properly offend. As a public broadcaster it goes without saying they should take the higher ground rather than punt something able to have this type of backlash. More so that they are the key sponsors of Jozi's biggest cycle race and their CEO is the head of Lead SA. Context changes things...

I think it will be a sad day when we're too scared to say or do things because some segment of society may interpret it in some way that they could possibly find offensive.

I think its even sadder when we cant be tolerant and understanding of how our words and actions can be so offensive to others.

The world would be a better place with a touch more tolerence.

My post on twitter: @bicyclesafetysa @WhackheadS as a cyclist riding the @momentum947 next month this is very poor. Can't believe @947Highveld allowed this#fail

Response from 947: We apologise for any offense caused by the #ShowUsYour947 pic. It was intended as a tongue-in-cheek look at Joburg life

My response: @947Highveld sure, but think about people who lost loved ones due to exactly that type of behaviour!! Burry Stander being a good example

Many a truth said in jest...

This is our reality, and the winner captured it perfectly.

Is it jarring? Yes

Offensive? Ya, to some

Should we all be lynching him and 94.7? I don't think so.

I also see a person capturing everything that frustrates a lot of us every day. Specially seen we had so many cyclists down this week. It shows potholes taxis all things we just love complaining about. I also wander if the dog is supposed to be the driver or is it actually his whistling noise making sidekick. He is sitting in the passenger seet.

When I first saw this picture - my appreciation was that it was a satirical view of city living in Johannesburg.

I think everyone is over-reacting - the picture includes a lot of our typical whinges about city living in the Big Smoke - potholes - taxi's taking out cyclists - giraffes not safe in the city etc.

Take a step back and a deep breath before you attack that keyboard people.

Let's hear what the creator has to say before we over react.

Let's say we buy the satire of the creator capturing the frustrations we experience in Jozi, then one question remains to be begged, why the hell would any cyclist smile as if he is on a carnival ride when he gets hit by a taxi.

It's plain dumb and gullible to believe that the creator of this picture was trying to highlight the disgusting murder of cyclists on our roads .

He had one thing in mind with that part of his creation and that was to show how annoying cyclists are and what fate awaits them .

This creator ,like his smiling knocked over cyclist took great pleasure in that little jibe he included .

As for the sick donkey shaggers that voted for this picture, one can only sit back and be amazed at the intellect of the listeners to this radio station.

If anything ,it goes to show how many people out there actually hate us cyclists on the roads.

lol... Look again...

Everyone is smiling it is not just satirical it also shows that we are coping with it all. The children is playing in the potholes opposed to getting hurt in the potholes. It is also a bit sarcastic.

It is like Zuma smiling while his privates are exposed.

If you think this depicts murder and anoyment with cyclists you are missing it.

All that said it is not a very good picture the competition must not have been tough.

Nobody smiles when they get hit by a vehicle ,nobody .

The knob that created that poor and if I may say the most horrific editing job of a photo clearly didn't think it through, I don't see the smiling children in the potholes being knocked over by a taxi .

And read my comments again, I never said it depicted murder, it makes a mockery of cyclists being murdered daily on our roads.

It's probably his point to make a mockery of the whole "hey everybody it's sunshine and roses in Jozi! Show us what's good about your city". It's a very sarcastic picture. I think everyone needs to maybe inhale. It'll probsbly turn out the oke is a cyclist who was pissed off about all these things.

No matter how pretty you try and paint it, there is no joke or mockery about cyclists being mowed down by vehicles.

Nobody makes a mockery of cancer.
