Today's pancake...

Before the TT and that high mountain stage this weekend.

Calm before the storm?

Dunno hey. This Giro has brought drama even on the flattest of flattest of stages.

Only a 140ish km - it's gonna be blistering!

There will be some challenges for the fast men, around 6km to go the route takes a hard right followed by a hard left, and then enters a road that is straight for 4km but has several roundabouts to negotiate. In the final 2km there are two small roundabouts and one very large one that the peloton has to go around the long way, and then one last curve to the right with about 500m to go. This twisty finish should favour the organised sprint trains that can take the front through those late twists and hold off the challenges of their rivals, so my pick for the win is Andre Greipel ahead of Elia Viviani.

I think Greipel too... probably his last day in the tour as well so will want to go out with a bang. Has had the best lead out train in the tour so far - when the bunch sprint has happened that is...

Greipel is definitely going to go for it, After yesterdays win however, PhilGil has moved up to 4th for the sprinters / Points jersey and is only 21 points off Boem. With The gorilla bound to exit soon that means Philip will move up, So who knows, maybe another BMC train will be seen today.

Cant leave Nizzolo and Trek Factory Racing out of todays stage either... He is still in the points race I think and trek have come to the Giro with a team built for him. Could become quite a scrap in the latter part with teams trying to get on the front

Very glad with Gilbert's win since he is one of my favourite's.

I'm not a big Contador fan- (maybe its still because of that cheeky move in 2011 when Andy's chain dropped and I was a big Andy fan) but I have to respect the way this guy is riding. I'm 100% behind him for the double.

I think after yesterday it is pretty clear that he is stronger than the other contenders. Both Porte and Aru suffered.

Did you see that face of Aru. If I ever look like that after a race/ ride, I will stop cycling at all

Today will definitely be a bunch sprint. I just hope that the raod is wide enough and we don't see serious accidents.

The guys with monster camera lenses should stay 1 km away from the finish.

Definitely not, have him in my Fantasy team and after all his "So closer yet so Far" places from last year's Giro (2nd Point Classification overall, 2nd on Stage 4,7,10 & 21, 3rd on Stage 2 and 5th on Stage 13) I really hope he gets his first Grand Tour victory this time around.

I think if the peloton gets wrong again and the sprinters end up sprinting for minor places there will be hell to pay. I reckon the pace will be insane from the start as guys try to get into a break since breaks have stayed away so often this year and the sprint teams set a high pace to stop breaks getting away. Going to be tough today.

If i were Astana,

I would send as many attacks up the road that i could leaving Aru in the bunch,

Try get the other guys to work hard to soften them for the TT tomorrow.

Dont know how much that would affect them but every second counts.
