That doesn't give us any dates though... or is it just 2014

PSSSTTTT.........there are only 50days left in the year, including public holidays and weekends which means there is just about no bloody work days left in the year of 2014 ...just saying..

So how far into the harvesting plan are they vs what has happened on site?

I have been advised by Saskia at TMNP that children on a child's bike will not be charged for as an adult. A child on an adult bike  - 26" on up (I suppose) will be charged as an adult I guess. All a bit confusing in the light of Tarcia's email yesterday.

Anyone got a lead on some 24" wheels  - they may just come back into fashion at Tokai :-)

Of course they have missed the fact that 29ers should pay double, just because :-)

Damn, so my tallish 9year old will pay more because he is on a 26'er vs his shorter 10 year old friend on a 24"?

So if you pitch on a FAT bike .... what then :P

On reflection I think they can argue any kid on a MTB has to pay regardless of the wheel size...

Is it just me or are they just making it up as they go along?

The oke at the gate doesn't know the difference between a kids bike and and an adult bike.

From what I can gather their own rules prevent the purchase of an activity card by anybody under the age of 12. Meaning you have to pay daily to do this legally.

That is if your kid is

A. Under 12

B. Rides a wheel smaller than 26 inch

C. Isn't especially tall or possibly looks like he/she may damage the environment

That's not at all ridiculous now is it...

I foresee myself sourcing stickers that simply say "24" and plastering them all over my youngsters wheels.

Odd, I spoke to the guys on the ground 3 weeks ago and according to them, they were not going further than the two compartments they were currently clearing.

Oh, well, never a dull moment in Tokai. Glad Aubrey finally sent the schedule.. last week

Re notice: harvesting maps were put up in March 2014 at the start of the MTB trail in the Arboretum, the Tokai picnic site, Wild Card Sales Office as well as Silvermine Gate and at the MTB parking in Silvermine.

Had I been on top of the timing I probably would have sent out a notice to stay clear of this trail over the weekend, will need to be sharper in the future. Apologies to all affected by the closure.

So which is it officially? (1) They only got the schedule last week or (2) harvesting maps got put up in March?

This is what I think:

(1) Aubrey most likely sent the latest schedule last week

(2) I believe they are lying about putting up harvesting maps in March.

Just been to the gate and while there is a map there NOW, the guy at the gate says that         it got put up 2-3 days ago as the first time he has seen it was yesterday.

The picnic site also has no map and the woman there has no idea about any maps for the harvesting.

Ding ding. Probably right, there, Dave

The schedule sent last week which was not clarified, is for approval of future logging.

The one put up in March is for 2014 and on the map it looked like it would not affect any of the trails. I saw it earlier, whether it was March I couldn't say.

1) that's what I thought

2) Maybe this should have been distributed earlier? Then there would have been no less confusion. Just a thought

Everybody buys wattle for firewood. So why not either let people come and collect their own firewood, however this will probably be catastrophic. The other option is to get guys in who will resell the wood etc, unless that is already happening

A source of income for TokaiMTB perhaps? Get the concession and alien clear for profit.

And what about that council worker on the moer-off-your-bike thread? Does he get in for free as well?
