Going for my first Tokai ride tommorow  . Does anyone know if its possible to use my MTO / Jonkershoek permit. I mean, theres a lot of things I can do with R60 other than paying for permits...

Dunno if this is something I missed in the 29-pages I did not want to read

Koei How does Tokai compare to Jonkers in your opinion?

Jonkers just has more. More options, more trail, more scope for building and a more approachable party who holds sway over the land.

In terms of terrain - Jonkers has a different type of soil structure (more clay-like) and can hold a trail better when it comes to erosion etc.

In terms of technicality - much the same, really. It's just that Jonkers offers more trail. Quite a bit more trail, tbh.

Still a trail I'm trying to fit in before end of holiday...

You MUST.

The 2 sides are so different, as well. Left hand side of the mountain (as you go up - Canaries / DH trails) is far more technical, except for the last "flow trail" or snakeys, which is very flowy, but still full of jumps. RHS of the mountain (Fire Hut) is flowy as heck, and you get SPEEEED!!! I love the Fire Hut side, as I kinda suck at technical stuff, but the canaries are super fun as there's some THICK new pine growth there.

GO with someone from the area, who knows the routes...

Sounds awesome, must try and organize a day with a 'local'... (Hint nudge wink)

Cool so it has to be this week sometime. Probably sat or Sunday. Thursday I'll be bro... Ken. Oh btw. Plan on hitting Chris Nixon's place in constantia. He's got a new pump track in there that looks schweeeet

Ja, but really any weekend thereafter will work as well should there not be time before Monday. Have a 5 hour road ride on Saturday, other than that, open..

Yeah, also want to check out Nixon's place, saw Marko post about it. Would like to compare it to the pump track just opened at Bloemendal, the amount of skills I've learnt going around it only 5 times or so is incredible!
