Daai Anthem is 'n beaut!

Terminator Posted October 21, 2014 Share Not sure if someone's said it as my decoder's a bit faulty, but bear in mind that the Giants all come with a lifetime warranty and it's a pretty much tried and tested frame / geometry with tons of R & D behind it. Not sure of Momsen's warranty, but have heard of some stickiness there. The Giant would be way ahead in my personal decision.

My riding buddy had his 2013 Anthem Advanced cracked due to hard riding and jumping. He sent in his bike and received the new frame with the bike built up all within a week. No questions asked by Giant. Thumbs up! Like I said on many other forums, if I had R40k odd again to buy a bike, I would buy an Anthem Advanced 29er again!

Monark Posted October 21, 2014 Share I have ridden both, I made this exact decision in April this year. They are closely matched in price but have completely different suspension setups and ride feel. For me the Anthem X just looked and felt much better quality wise. When I rode the Vipa I was blown away by how stiff and responsive it was. I am a social rider that enjoys long distance efforts and to tackle some technical single track. For me the Anthem X was the better overall package. The Vipa is a great bike but the Giant's geometry fits me better and I like the big brand backup. Monark Posted October 21, 2014 Share Agree with Floatfox, looks like the rear triangle has come loose. Weird! I have dropped my carbon Anthem X a few times (one fall put me out for a while) and she is fine. The reason for the rear triangle being alloy is because they couldn't justify the cost/benefit ratio of a carbon one. The alloy version weighs 50g or something more? There is a write up on mtbr I think...
