Lightweight 29er rims

I'm in the fortunate position to grab a new set of rims for my Anthem 29er.

Choices being Crest or Wide Lightning and not sure what else to consider. I'm +- 68kg, so no need for too strong rims, although I ride all types of terrain from road to Hakahana type rocky terrain.

Anyone with experience and what would you go with?

Can one compare the Wide Lightning and Crests even? I'm leaning towards the AC's ...

I went with the American Classics Wide Lighting. Very impressed with them. According to my local bike shop, they are more suitable for my weight (+-92kg's) and because they are wider, they offer better traction. They are also very light, which is never a bad thing!

Am classic 101 rim, same width as Crest , 21mm, but weigh same as A/C race rim, I weighed mine at 366gr per rim, more than 20gr lighter than Crest. They ( 101) also have the same weight limit as ZTR Arch rims and cost less than Crest/ Arch.

A/C race is also very good option, even wider at 23mm, but a bit less robust, and cost twice the price.

So, A/C race for great width and weight, A/C 101 for weight, price and strength.

PS, I have all have used all the above rims, so this is based on personal experience.

Wide lightings seem like a great option, as a wheelset they are lighter than Crest, but the actual rim is heavier ( this is what really counts, rotational weight), but Super wide and thus you can use a narrower tyre to get same/better performance.

Have AC wide lightning... they are just awesome. They really pull that tire out to give you more contact with the ground.

On the weight side, they are quite light. Some say just off carbons. I have heard that previous ACs were a little brittle but the wide Lightnings are much more robust. I haven't had any problem with mine and been riding them relatively hard for about 4 months.
