When do you get here? If you are keen for a Tokai ride tomorrow say 6 pm just shout.

We may be in town by then, bringing 3 young hotshots down with us, picking them up from school then hitting the road.  That would be a lekker plan, will let you know if we will get to Cape Town in time, via PM

What's wrong?

Had a rather meaningful OTB on Contermanskloof Supertubes a week and a bit ago. I could ride, I suppose, but the raw areas and my shoulder are still rather sketchy. Just do not want to go anywhere near the medical rooms to get them scrubbed and cleaned again!! (but I did do the 126km on Sunday so I am not a total wuss haha)

good for all your technical training

After doing Emmies you are ready to face any downhill section and the trickiest of single-tracks.

i have 3 rocks on my 5 km training route,  one even has a sharp point on it, think I will be ready for any pebbles on the route Saturday.

Personally I prefer tumbling down Van Gaalens or Hakahana you get a lot more bruises than Emmies

Rode Conters up over the mast and Bloemendaler last night. For all your sakes I hope the S Easter isn't blowing on Saturday like it was yesterday.

I've signed up to get thrashed by high school kids in the 40km event.

If you see me, please say "Hi". I'm always keen to chat to fellow Hubbers. I'll be decked out in The Hub gear and riding a silver bike.

See you out on the 40km Nick, we'll tackle those youngsters head on  ;)

The good news is that being a spruit rider means having 8" of travel front and back, full face helmet, knee and elbow guards so Hoogekraal will be a cinch!

I do enjoy good pre race banter.

I rode Hillcrest and Contermans again this morning. That concrete climb to the mast is a bit tough - not quite Delta Park of course but rough!

That climb to the mast will get your HR into Zone 2 at least. Depending on fitness, finesse and all-round condition, round not being your condition.

Has the entry process closed for this event? I tried to enter numerous times yesterday and today and I have sent two e-mails. I was under the impression entries are open until today? Are they perhaps full?

I would REALLY like to enter... was so looking forward to this race!!! :(

Just studied the route profile and read the race directions. Suddenly I am feeling a bit nervous. From what it sounds like it is going to be extremely hard.

If you know these trails, what else did you expect?

There's a reason that I entered the 40km only.

Jip, gonna be EPIC, even the 40km.

Looking forward to it. At least we know there is going to be some decent singletrack. This is not going to be a Dirt Roadie ride like last weekend.

I do know them. Just didn't think we would hit Contermans twice. Looking forward to it no matter what. Supposed to be a little cooler on Saturday so that is one good thing. All these trails rolled into one is really going to be something special.

Agreed! Its normally a few of them together - never Hoogies AND Hillcrest AND Contermans AND Meerendal AND Bloemendal!

You're a braver man than I!
