Watch out for lurking bubble wrap.

So there I was cycling home to Woodstock. Hectic wind (as usual for this time of year).

A sheet of bubble wrap caught by a gust of wind blew under my front wheel.

Then under the back.

THEN....wrapped around the cassette, derailleur sheared off at the hangar, went into wheel, broke two spokes. Derailleur exploded. So one piece of bubble wrap necessitates buying a new 11 speed campy derailleur and 2 fulcrum spokes (assuming I can find some).

Unbelievable.

Don't know what good this post will do, just venting I guess.

Watch out for wind-borne bubble wrap.

And if anyone care's to buy the nice steel Peugot in battleship grey/orange trim with an Ultegra/Dura Ace mix of parts I bought from Eldron....I may well have to sell her to fix the "faster" bike.

I suppose it could have been worse, like Main road with a taxi right behind me worse.

Fekkin bubble wrap.

Eina! I feel your pain. Hope you heal up soon. Losing any Campy bits is tuff. The Shimano 'n SRAM people just woud'nt understand what you are going through right now.

Ouch. I had a bit of tissue paper fly into my cassette making its rounds through my derailluer. Lucky after a half hour of picking out bits of paper I was on my way no harm done.

Good luck with the repair!

Are you just looking for a reaction or a campy vs everything else thread cos I'm sure that's been done to death.

That wouldn't happen to be an XL battleship grey Peugeot built by Mr Shimano?

After looking at the thread I have developed a new fetish! Campy is different. It is unique. It is awesome! I want it!

I understand that there are even people who have a bubble wrap fetish, picking it up everywhere and trying to pop it..........  ;)  :D

Indeed! That guy goes through bikes faster than I go through coffee. I don't think he's ever changed tyres or brake pads on a bike!!
