Got mine back from having the parts fitted by the LBS yesterday :) Haven't ridden it yet though :( But love the clean look! If I had a SRAM derailler I'd consider a grip shift for the rear - would clean up the bars so nice...

Very neat!

Did you do a 36 up front? And what chainring is that?

Grip shift is a nice idea. I've never tried it before. Think you could dump gears fast enough? XT shifters can dump 4 gears at a time...

I wont go back to 2 x 10 , I love this 1 x 10 set up , I bought 2 chain rings a 32 for hills and a 38 for flat riding as where I live its very flat , You run out off gears with a 32 or 30 on flat sections .

Dude. One twist and you've changed the whole cassette range. Speed of gripshift can not be matched.

Then it sounds like the idea 1 x 10 solution. Well, at least from speed of changing perspective.

Totally agree, grip shift is the business without doubt and the efficiency of the rapid shifting is amazing. Riding the XX1 with grip shift is a different league. I dont feel I lose anything with 10/42 at back.

Guys, seriously considering this change and I'm looking at the Evo bikes combo that they're offering, I. E. The & 34 with 42 FRM combo. Is this a good deal?

Will need anything else though?

I currently have a medium clutch rear Derailluer with a 38/24 front set up.

Will I be able to use the same Derailleur and chain?

Also, will I need new chain ring bolts as well?

Apologies if this has been raised before.

What RD are you using?

You will more than likely need a long cage RD but I stand to be corrected.

I bought the same set up, strongly suggest you add in a wolftooth 16T to replace the 15 & 17

Nope, medium cage is absolutely fine.

actually setup my 36x11-42 with Medium cage, shifter a bit stiff lower rage gears, but all seems well.... so far
