Kinda looking at this as an option; frame only. Any idea who will be a good stockist in Cape Town area and what this beast will sting at the moment; will drag over my XT set on existing bike.

What fork are you planning to put on that Tallboy?

Have met quite a few local (Pmb) riders that prefer the LT/LTc version which has 140/135mm travel. It seems to climb and traverse just as fast on CTD or equivalent modern suspension but has a lot more travel for descending.

I am loving my LTc after testing several 100mm and 120mm bikes. Most fun I ever had on a bike.

I do mostly trail riding and exploring trips on unprepared routes with not much racing so I understand if your needs are different.

You wont be sorry.

I just took delivery of mine. 34 k and change including cane creek headset and courier to Tzaneen.

I know it won't help you much but Mikes Bikes in JHB gave me great service.

I've kitted her with XT, American Classice All Mountain wheels and Easton bits and pieces.

Just waiting for my REBA and the brace to come off my neck!

Only 'problem' with the LTC, if you're predominantly an XC/Marathon rider, is that the shock mount points on the frame are different on the LTC, so you can't run a bottle cage inside the triangle.

Ja true about the bottle cage...I prefer camelbaks anyway and have never had bottles on any of my bikes.

Would be a shame to avoid such a great bike just because of a bottle ☺

Only 'improvements' I would suggest for the current LTc are internal cable routing and raise the bb about 15 mm to reduce pedal strikes when giving it horns on twisty single track.

You can also try the team at Action Cyling in Cape Town (Loop Street). Build mine and was the best price by far. It sounds like the frames are going for +/-R34k. You will not look back!
