On closer reading, Astana is awarded the license on what are very stringent conditions.

I like the UCI's approach and can support the outcome with the "subject to...".

Final decision pending but I say UCI will roll over and grant licence. Will certainly be a crisis.

Can one quote oneself?

If When Astana fail the "Subject to.." again, will the UCI then demolish them? Guess only time will tell. i still think they (UCI) wasted i golden chance to regain proper respect for our sport.

Well, yeah, we will have to see.

The show must also go on as Astana is a solid contributor to the World Tour.

Fine tension.

That is the biggest shame as they have animated all the races they have been in one way or another and they made some good signings this year as well. Not all about Tommy V.

Yeah I'm sad they wont be racing.  Did super well last year.  Loved watching them.

Happy Astana is in the pro Tour. Under no illusion that the pelaton is clean but it is like farting against the wind. Cycling can't really afford to loose investment in the sport which is what probably would have happened if Astana dod not get license. Sad about Europecar though. They are much more prevalent in the races than most teams on the circuit.

For cycling, it is important that the sporting aspect is emphasized and that the financial aspect is secondary behind the ethics (when it is respected). The UCI (International Cycling Union) preferred to take a team (Astana) where several doping cases were found and which is associated with one or more doping stories (Padua). Why not insert the Team Europcar among the 18 teams in the World Tour, especially as compared to other years, there is a free space and no other team has applied to climb higher division and that the team was World Tour supposed to stay for a period of 2 years?
