I was talking to my engineer from the Netherlands who came to service my equipment and we were talking about riding.  He mentioned all the races in SA seem to be in teams and most of the ones he enters in Europe are as individuals.  I wonder if anyone knew why we mainly have 2 man team races?

Because it is our responsibility to promote togetherness and harmony? There are enough lonely, sad, individuals out there causing harm to society?

think it started off with safety.  if you pair people together and one dude gets lost / hurt / injured, there will always be another to assist.

I agree it doesn't make for interesting racing amongst the pro peleton, but I guess from the race organizer's point of view its not a bad idea.

Joburg2C, Namaqua Quest, PE to Plett, Cape Pioneer Trek and Tankwa Trek you can enter solo.

Funny how one can do the Joburg2C solo, but not the Sani2C?

Which races are considered to "require" the teammate, which are enhanced by having a partner and which ones should really be solo's?
