Wez-O Posted December 22, 2014 Posted December 22, 2014 I'd be interested to hear what the Hubs views are on the new Garmin Connect website?I'm not going to mince my words, personally I think its absolute shite! It's not user friendly, and has tried and failed horribly at copying Strava, including the segments section.Basically Garmin Connect is to Strava what Google Plus is to Facebook. An unimaginative, rubbish, copycat based on a software masterpiece...
BDF Posted December 22, 2014 Posted December 22, 2014 I agree Wez-O. The old site was faster and easy to work around. The new one is cumbersome and some of the menus don't even work. IMHO it would be better for them rather to spend more time on fitness/progress/performance anlatytics and add value that way. Nobody (that I know anyway) cares about where they stand on a Garmin Segment! That's what Strava is for...
ahmedbadat Posted December 22, 2014 Posted December 22, 2014 tried it and I think its terrible, lucky for now we can still use the old format which is what I do.
TIIME Posted December 22, 2014 Posted December 22, 2014 Rubbish site! They should have bought STRAVA when they could. Now if only STRAVA could acquire VeloViewer...
ZakAttak Posted December 22, 2014 Posted December 22, 2014 I use the old format... Hate the new Garmin Connect Format, as many of you said, it's rubbish and definitely not user friendly at all....
EmptyB Posted December 22, 2014 Posted December 22, 2014 Crap, slow and segment section is painful.....
Pusher Posted December 22, 2014 Posted December 22, 2014 I agree. Tried to upload some files this morning. Took frigging ages!
BDF Posted December 22, 2014 Posted December 22, 2014 One thing they have got right is the automatic uploads both to Garmin and Strava direct from the 510/810/1000 devices when paired with a phone. Only trouble is the mobile app doesn't allow for the more detailed edits like "Road Cycling or Indoor Cycling", you have to pick "Cycling" and edit the stuff more fully on the awful new website.
Wuzzie Posted December 22, 2014 Posted December 22, 2014 Upload on new platform is confusing one needs to download navigator every time. I cant work out how to put navigator on my desktop so I can manually sink insteadof relying on auto sync.Instead of copying Strava they should have copiedTraining Peaks.
mikkelz Posted December 22, 2014 Posted December 22, 2014 Agreed with most of the comments. I still use the old view/version whenever possible, as it's such a mission to navigate the new design/layout!
Barend de Arend Posted December 22, 2014 Posted December 22, 2014 I just get "Your system does not support Garmin Express."[1]My system does support Strava, though. [1] Garmin are allergic to Linux, even though they actually use it in some of their devices.
G e r h a r d Odendaal Posted December 22, 2014 Posted December 22, 2014 I think the new and old version is not good.
G e r h a r d Odendaal Posted December 22, 2014 Posted December 22, 2014 If I have to choose - for me the older version is better though...
Eugene Oppelt Posted December 22, 2014 Posted December 22, 2014 AgreedI always restore the older version :-(
johanpre44 Posted December 22, 2014 Posted December 22, 2014 I'm only using Garmin Connect to automatically upload my workouts to Strava, and occasionally to send planned rides to my Edge 500. Have to agree that the new version of the site is a bit sluggish and kind of counter-intuitive.
