Yes, dependent on the quality of your internet connection.

Ok so bare with me here cos I'm stupid today  ....its the heat.

Yip - that was super lazy of me. My bad

But basically you run the Kodi program together with the SportsDevil addon?

Gonna give that a try.

Yes that is correct, Kodi is my media streaming software and the SportsDevil addon is used to get the streaming feeds.

There are plenty plenty addons that are installed the same way as sportsdevil to get all different content, movies, tv, series, etc.... some work good, some work for a while then get closed down, new ones take the place of the ones that do get closed down ;)

I hope they do not go the way of sky in the UK, as the sports package addon to the standard package was expensive... and there are many who did not take it .. so still ended up going down the pub to watch sport.

With sky you had

Basic package

paid extra for the sports package

paid extra for the movie package

You could not just take the sports package and nothing else, you had to have the basic package first then add to it... and pay for the additional packages

Lets hope they don't go that way

so who has got sports streaming working on the roku? I watch ITV through Filmon TV but that requires me connecting my Laptop to my TV or watching on the desktop which is not ideal. I did a brief search for a browser app recently...maybe i need to revisit that

Also register on the website www.filmon.com and keep your login details.

With the xfinity wizard it will load "Expat TV" and the fusion wizard should load "FTV". When you run the addons they will ask for your filmon login details. Input the info and you will get all the UK free to air channels. ITV4 often covers the cycling too :)

Can do a trial run with the Giro before you decide whether is good enough for the TdF and ditch DSTV :)

Once you get familiar and start playing around with kodi, you can load "FTV Guide" which will give you an electronic program guide of some 300 odd channels from uk, USA and elsewhere. A lot of the free to air channels will already be linked to the EPG, other channels you have to learn how to find them and then link to the Chanel in the EPG

Also read on the kodi website with regard to recommended addons and what they do... Can get movies, series ... You name it :)

Does the FTV add-on install from the raspberry Pi or should I put the SD card in a notebook and load there?

All addon's will install via the Pi

Install the fusion installer and xunitytalk installer... this will install most of the popular addons automatically

Which version of kodi are you using on the Pi?  Openelec?

I am underwhelmed by the selection on netflix.

Perhaps I dont fall in the 90 percentile when it comes to series/movies.

The ease of use/ quality however is great.

not everything is available on the browse function...sometimes you need to search

as for netflix..i am just gonna carry on using the UK version cos I still watch BBC through the iplayer and sky news ...so I am going to keep my current netflix subscription. Same price anyway. just an extra $4 for getflix

I logged onto Netflix UK last night without a proxy, just streamed!!!

Was I lucky?
