Are there any manufacturers that produce slim fit cycling shorts? Not baggies but not full on lycra either. It's for the benefit of all that I don't dress full roadie, I'm cool with the tops but I have thighs like a retiring crack hooker. Something similar to what Manuel Fumic wears would be ideal.

I had no idea who or what you were on about, so I googled it...

Found a pic with some local flavour...

Some of the Royal pants are similar to this. I think the Shredtech brings them in...

They come with a decent price tag though.

Thanks, Super M, please don't tell the rats, I'm still holding out for an invite to that Whatsapp group.

You have to go full body armour to roll with the Rats!

I got a sweet pair of Craft trail shorts. Not too loose, but also not lycra tight.

Bought it from Ridgeway Cycles - but it comes at a premium and doesn't have a liner, so you need to have a good bib on under it.

I have the ones from Complete Cyclist (cant remember brand but they have a little complete cyclist logo on them) ... nice as they not too loose or tight... and very comfortable.

It's actually a shame that the more trail-oriented clothing isn't as readily available in SA as in other regions, such as Europe, USA and Oz. Just have a look at the variety of brands and styles on CRC. The local market doesn't even have a tenth of that.

It would be great, but that said not all of them are amazing quality. My better half got a set of Endura ladies trail pants (not cheap either) while we were in France and the stitching quality on them is not great. Had to have them restitched twice already.

I had a pair of Fox (Ranger?) shorts that lasted a few years and they survived a few DH runs as well. They have a built in liner that is also rather comfy.
