rudi-h Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 the more i think about this, it seems a bit analogous to dudes who go out to bars with the sole purpose of getting into fights. some folk enjoy the rush of picking a fight and moering some random dude for the sake of it. very similar: its also selfish, its not fun for anybody else in the bar/club (sidewalk/road), it is dangerous and it apparently gives you an adrenaline rush like no other... but at the end of the day fighting in bars remains retarded and fits well with folk who generally build their homes on wheels and sleep with their sisters... agree or disagree with this analogy, you choose... edit: spelling

Yet this does not send me into a frenzy where I blow up every minibus or BMW. If this is the case with you, the fact that a cyclist cut you off is the least of your worries.2) A knob on he's mtb cut me off this morning, guess what. I did not kill even one cyclist on the way home. So there's that argument. 3) This form of cycling is dangerous, we deal with it and accept the possibility of death. If you don't like it don't ride4) In general we never have issues with pedestrians, and judging by the amount of cheering and greetings they don't mind us that much.5) The odd close encounter with pedestrians does happen, but the funny thing is this happens whether you're cycling, driving or walking6) I do not ride the hustle to be cool, different or a hipster. I ride it cause I enjoy it7) I do not see myself as an extremely talented rider, I stay within my limits and within my limits I (mostly) stay on my bike8) Should I be unfortunate and get into an accident with a motor vehicle or pedestrian, I will do the correct thing. Share details, call an ambulance etc. What makes this situation any different to that of where you are driving a car? I cant say I agree with your logic or line of thinking. The biggest concern (other than what you are doing is illegal) would be the damage this would do to the image of cyclists in general. But whether you like it or not, condone it or not, aprove or not, I realy don't care. I ride it, enjoy it and take the risks I feel is within my limits. I don't ride up one ways, in the video the rider is shown going against traffic, but that was his choice to ride on the righthand side. But in the end the b!tching and moaning on the critics side and the justification on the other side will not effect me. So a response is not always worth itDon't mistake people looking at you as awe, it's not, they see you as the sad little bunch of children you are. They are laughing at you.
