How many people may I nominate?

Do they have to agree to be nominated?

Does there have to be a seconder?

You may nominate 5 people. You must provide their email address and cell number on the nomination for it to be valid.

Yes they have to accept the nomination if they are to be elected. I will contact them by email to confirm their acceptance.

What a waste of man/woman power. They should be making sure that people pay but in summer that means the gate/office has to be working nice and early. Dumb TMNP, Dumb.

and it's not crossed anyone's mind that maybe there are reasons no-one mans the pay station when staff are on duty really early? Reasons like an outside company that TMNP have contracted to collect fees across the park. Surely someone thought about this.. it's simple logic also to ask if you don't know.

Incredible that this is still going.. ok, as you were.

Edit: Safety? No, the rangers are only on duty earlier to nail a few mountain bikers without permits.

Missing the point: It's not a valid point to suggest getting an annual card and saving. Or being allowed access at any time when the park is open, without worry of being fined in any area throughout the Park where you may cycle.. No sir, it must be about the point!

Why would we ask? They wear the SANParks uniform and are "managed" by SANParks (or at least should be.

They're barely on duty during "normal" office-hours, always late anyway. In those cases the guards say, "Go ride, pay later".

Now they come in even earlier and say, "Sorry, no you can't ride....No, you can't pay later..."
Surely they should make prevision in these cases to enable people to actually buy tickets.

They have a sunrise-sunset policy  (with a special agreement negotiated for nightriding), but can only pay during office-hours. If you're going to enforce it make sure people can actually pay you.

It doesn't make sense. Oh wait, it's SANParks

You serious Deon?

NO-ONE said that the annual card isn't a good idea, but not everyone can get one. It took me 3 months to renew mine last year, as my work and family did not enable me to get to Kirstenbosch or Tokai within working hours.

In this case the OPs friend was riding there for the FIRST time and thus didn't have an activity card. As they OP stated he had his money ready to pay on the way out

I feel for what happened to the OP but this is no different from any business with operating hours. The external company starts at a time that does not cater for early day visitors.

The choice to buy a card is logical in this sense but if they choose not to then they may buy a ticket at 7 when the ticket office opens. I don't see why this should be a debate? What time do you start work?

As I said in my first post. Selling a ticket at 6 is not possible at this time, maybe you did not understand.

I can also see the benefit that has not been considered. Their presence, especially including Sia's, means your commute into the Park is also safer for you. If it was not for the morning time change, TokaiMTB would need to find a solution - it was already an item for action. What remains is after-hours presence, this is still needing a solution. So yes, I am serious.

I understand you have a point to make, I hope it also considers reasons that are possibly out of TMNP's control at this time. As a discussion however, I would say it has only centred around their current inability to take payment earlier and an unhealthy dose of name-calling.

They're %^#$@!$ idiots!!!

If you read the post, they weren't allowed to enter until 7/7:30

My point about asking is with you jumping to conclusions or completely misunderstanding. There is nothing wrong with trying to first understand why.
