MEK is just Acetone with an added methyl group. Acetone = Propanone and MEK = Butanone Both are ketones.

Bear in mind both of these are very aggressive solvents and will likely damage paintwork, rubber and some plastics.

So tried all options posted here and nothing has worked. The stickers are so weak that they break off when trying to peel them even very gently. Most I can get in 1 go is a few mm. Even after hearing with hair dryer. Any ideas on something more powerful?

Hair dryer but let it get hotter, best way to remove stickers even old ones on a rim that will be close to super glued on. You must heat the sticker to the point that you can only keep you fingers on it for a sec or 2.

I do a bit of car detailing.

There is only 1 product i use to remove stickers.

It works and it's safe.

Goo Gone which I got a Builders Warehouse.

What, not one mention of Isopropyl yet. R50 for a litre at Mantech / most electronics retailers, cleans almost anything and if its used by medical field for cleaning it should be "safe". Just don't try drink it.

Edit: Removed additional caps as to not be confused with Dips.

My rim stickers all came off recently but only the top see through layer, the thicker white layer has remained behind and looks terrible. Really struggling to get them to peel off. Any ideas or help in getting them of. The rims are aluminum, and white, so nothing that will stain them please.

Heat them up with a hair dryer and they should remove easier, sounds like the lamination has come off.

It is a mission to remove those decals as the vinyl tears pretty easy if there are stone nicks on the old decals.

have fun
