Well in 2013, for example, I did R4S in 3.59; and  Argus 4.28.

Do you get why I am so bitter and twisted?

Seems you may be the exception. Id have to go to my results and confirm but for the years I haven't had any sort of an issue during either race(last 2 years had a mechanical at argus costing about 10min) my biggest difference was 8min slower for argus(2009 with all the wind)

that was a bad crash happened 5 m in front of me.

probs 10 or so involved and a lot of near misses.

Al the best to Doug

Enjoyed this race...from the comfort of a team car... :whistling:

Took this pic of the aftermath of a crash in the elites. Doug ended up with a fractured collarbone...

Did my first R4S ever and was seeded in KL after doing a number of races with my wife my seeding was shocking.  I have one questions though.  What is the point of all the sprints as you come out of a corner? Man those hurt me!

Hope Doug recovers quickly, the sound of his agony was horrifying. Only just missed the pavement to the left and doing some bottle dodging.

There should have been a marshal on that traffic island. Saw the front of the bunch aiming straight at it leaving the back of the bunch to try and dodge people, bikes and bottles.

To do just that....hurt you

See the okes on the front will have a few aces to keep the okes behind them honest.

Sprints around corners

Sprints up hills

Guttering

They want to pop people

When in a group like KL one would think that you want a lower percentage of responsibility. In other words, keep the group bigger and therefore faster?

Sure, unless its the same okes sitting pulling from the start to the finish...then its dirty tactics time

So that was you then!. Don't bring your dirty roadie tactics to Cool Bike races.

I was involved in the crash. The guy on my inside took me out, he told me afterwards that the guy on his inside bumped into him and then he went careening into me. I went OTB, rear derailleur messed up badly. Luckily not too much damage myself, bit of road rash and a very stiff body this morning.

The other guy had a nasty fall, seems like he popped his shoulder, his elbow didn't look vey good and his thumb was at an abnormal angle. Hope you heal up soon bud.

There was a few guys who went down after hitting us, they could continue, so I think they were fine.

Was a good day up to that point, racing in A bunch is awesome. Thanks gents

Thanks JP for the company on the way back to Boksburg. Good news, only a dislocated thumb , a hematoma to the right elbow and a groot headache. What looked like tar rash on my legs and right arm was actually Conti rubber. How many guys rode over me?

Special thanks to Celeste from ATC who gave us a lift to the end. Would hate to wait the whole day out there.

BTW, that beer at the Edenglen Tent was the best! See you all next week at MacSteel.

You still get guys in those groups that thing they would give Tony martin a run for his money. Yet despite all the sprints they don't drop the group.

If you can turn a 56 chainring at full tilt like he does, you can attack whenever you like, I for one wont waste my time chasing you :)

That's great news Ozzie! You looked in a world of pain, so I'm glad it isn't too serious. Haha, the rubber rash sounds like a good war story.

Big hand to Celeste and the crew, would've sucked to see everyone race past until someone picked us up.

Good luck with the MacSteel hey

I dropped back to KL one year to ride with friends that did a late entry. There's no such thing as beginners in a group that far back, especially if late entries aren't seeded.
