Da Vinci Posted February 6, 2015 Posted February 6, 2015 I'm really battling with my current bike and the Stan's blocking the valve core - never had this issue on my last bike. Any advice?
tyerone Posted February 6, 2015 Posted February 6, 2015 Unscrew the valve core fit a new one. Either clean old one and keep as spare or throw away. . . .
King_Crispy Posted February 6, 2015 Posted February 6, 2015 Or take out the existing cote, clean it and give it a squirt of silicone. The stans doesn't stick to it
Vetseun Posted February 6, 2015 Posted February 6, 2015 Take them out. Place in an old glass jar. Add almost boiling water and sunlight liquid. Leave for a few minutes. Shake vigorously. Remove lid and allow liguid to cool. Remove valve cores and rinse off under clean water. After that do it with your chain as well.
JXV Posted February 7, 2015 Posted February 7, 2015 The cores must be leaking slightly for the stans to accumulate there.Try new cores and if it continues replace the valve stems too.
RocknRolla Posted February 7, 2015 Posted February 7, 2015 I normally dip the valve cores in a bit of grease, makes sure no blockages occur.
WrightJnr Posted February 7, 2015 Posted February 7, 2015 Someone here suggested vaseline a while back. I've been doing that for 6 months now and have had not one issue. Works best with new valve core. Coat in vaseline and install. Works a treat!!
V12man Posted February 7, 2015 Posted February 7, 2015 Lipice seems to work ok on the clean valve core to stop sealant sticking
Da Vinci Posted February 7, 2015 Author Posted February 7, 2015 Whoop - thanx guys - have cleaned and replaced countless times - will take some preventative measures now
Tumbleweed Posted February 7, 2015 Posted February 7, 2015 Lipice seems to work ok on the clean valve core to stop sealant sticking Yup, have used Vaseline too.
