It's me man Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 Damn shame, i find bus drivers are particularly nonchalant about how fast or close they drive past a cyclist. owning the road works for me when its too crowded. try main road wynberg, Constantia road from the nek, Ottery Road at Royal Cape. blummen hell run. don't be a ninja, be seen.

venom1 Posted February 19, 2015 Posted February 19, 2015 Around 8am this morning their was a discussion on Heart FM about the safety of cyclist and poor mentality of drivers on the road. The chairman was of PPA was on as well. There was also mention of Roy Smith.

Jonkie Posted February 19, 2015 Posted February 19, 2015 My question is how will this 1 meter law be enforced. I was hit from behind in the yellow line by a driver. The guy did not stop. Fortunately someone managed to take down the driver's registration number. It's been 5 months now and the Saps haven't done anything about it yet.

Raising awareness is just that. Raising awareness. It's not a Superman bulletproof kinda costume where cars will re-direct their course on first glance. timbrink Posted February 19, 2015 Posted February 19, 2015 Thanks, but I am not a PPA member.Send the details to PPA anyway. please - they represent all cyclists, not just members. If they turn you away, please let us know. We need prosecutions to set legal precedents, to make this work long-term.
