R430/yr or R65/day

If only 1000 year permits are sold at Tokai that would = R430 000 per year

20 day permits per weekend = 65x20x52 = R67 600

Total R500 000

And you want security???

What security?

Parking by Trail & Tar is probably the best short term solution until something can be sorted out properly.

If I'm very early or plan to get back late, I park near the Chrysalis entry gate. The gate guard is there 24 hours a day.

Work-arounds:

  • Park somewhere else: ride rest of way
  • Dont go by car: ride in all the way
  • Dont go so early: wait for standard operating hours

Mitigatives:

  • civilian patrols in the early hours
  • sanparks wakes up earlier
  • police coffee stop in the early hours
  • train baboons to throw poo at anyone that doesn't look like a cyclist

In order of ease of implementation...

............train baboons to throw poo at anyone that doesn't look like a cyclist

Many moons ago,  I made the mistake to leave some nice sandwiches and juice in the car for lunch. Big mistake! They could obviously smell the food and after unsuccessfully trying to get to it, their revenge was to pluck and chew my wipers to bits and to **** all over the car. It was one of only 3 times in the last decade that I took the Landy to a car wash. I simply didn't have the stomach to clean that up myself.
