Reseed.. my stats are way worse than that , I got B ..

I'm sure N-I-N-J-A is not worried. These seedings are not a perfect science. From other races, I've seen the top guys in B come through most of the field of A. You can still get a very fast time in B batch. Last year's Amashova I was in the second bunch in A and the top group in B caught us a long way from the finish.

2h45 from D last year, and i was nowhere near the top 10( 32 of 140)  ... not spectacular but proof that sub 3 can be done

Yes, parking is inside.

If you want undercover parking, follow the road around the front of Emperor's Palace until you reach the parking. The front being the entrance to the casino and not Jones road.

edit: from their email this morning

EMPERORS PALACE ROAD CLASSIC - RIDER BRIEF

Thanks for joining for Sunday’s eighth running of the Emperors Palace Classic, presented by OR Tambo International Airport.

Please note riders have to collect their race packs and numbers at one of the following venues:

9 April Cycle Lab Fourways 10:00 – 18:00

10 April Emperors Palace Conference Centre 10:00 – 18:00

11 April Emperors Palace Conference Centre 9:00 – 15:00

All riders, this includes all elite and veteran racing groups, have to stay on the left side of the road at all times.

Crossing over the white line will result in immediate disqualification.

This is a directive from the Ekurhuleni Metro Police Department who are deploying more than 150 officials on the day to ensure cyclist’s safety.

All entrants will park at Emperors Palace – please ensure that you afford yourself enough time to get into the complex and get parked - and must then make their way outside to the starting pens, which are located 1km down the road in Jones Road (turn right out of Emperors) in front of the UTI and Europcar offices.

Riders have to be in their starting pens 15 minutes prior to their start and adhere to officials instructions.

The cut-off at the finish line is at 13:00 and a cut-off of 12:15 will be enforced at the right turn into Rondebult Road from Carnival City.

Race numbers will be removed from riders after these cut-offs and should they choose to continue they will form part of normal traffic and have to adhere to all traffic rules.

The finish line will be lifted at 13:00 and riders who cross the line after 13:00 will not receive an official time.

Riders in the 50km event have their turn-around point just before Carnival City on Boundary Road and have to take care to move to the right hand side of the road in a safe manner to effect the turn-around.

At the turn-around you might be asked to stop momentarily to allow you to join the flow of 102km cyclists on their way back.

50km Riders also need to look out for groups from the front when they cross the N17 on Rondebult Road as there is a 15 minute two-way flow of cyclists on this section with the elite groups returning to Emperors Palace at that time on that stretch of road.

Let’s have fun and look after each other!

Just hope to hang on this time, last really flat race this year

Using it as last minute prep for Panorama

Coming from KZN I'm going to suffer! I'll have to race in full winter kit for sure.

This photo was on our ride on Monday morning - heading up towards Carnival City. It started out okay at 04:30 on the way to Emperor's but by 06:45 it was like this:
