Tail winds and motopacing in that area :whistling:

Savage may have a few KOM's in the area from some DC prep :)

They might have become a bit fewer the past few months  :whistling:

I find it curious how some people seemingly ride only to chase KOMS ie - always the same routes, always when the wind is howling, only downwind, never enter any races, they take strava riding to a whole new level.

It is strange, I think I know who you are talking about. Never more than 45km total distance.

The person I am thinking of gets a ton of Kudos though, we don't even know that many people!!

One odd thing I have noticed is that I almost always seem to get kudos from some random guy who I have never met. I think he lives in Durban and I am up in Howick. What is really confusing to me is that he only seems to follow about 20 people on strava but he has over 1000 people following him from all over the world including top pro tour riders??? And yet he always gives me the thumbs up. I am rather confused!

He's a long distance riding junkie. That's why he has so many followers, including pro riders. Think he joined theHUBsa strava group and does random kudos to people coming up on his feed. Got a few from him on some of my activities too!

Aha. That explains it then. Thanks.

Does anyone cycle just for fun anymore? No GPS, Heart rate monitors, smart phones, cycle computer, power meter or any other monitoring crap app? Just the open road, scenic surroundings, wind in your face and a water bottle?

Mountain Bikers your **** don't count ok! We all know you guys are the hippies of the cycle world and are probably more often than not the happiest bunch among us.

More threads here on the Hub with MTB guys getting hysterical over wheel sizes and other random equipment rants that we ever see from roadies. More Strava nut jobs on the Spruit than any other place in Jozi. More MTB guys commenting here than roadies. How do you figure MTB guys the hippies?
