We'll do about 45 km in total (equivalent of your intended 60 km flat ride), but it covers an important section that you'll be glad you had a chance to look at before race day (it's the 50 - 75 km section of the race when you really start to feel it).

Yes it's hilly, but more like rolling hills. Easy stuff.

Like I say, I don't like riding at all before a race, so I'm only offering to act as tour guide to have a chance to meet you guys for the first time, help with a few pointers on my home course, and to enjoy a really social chilled morning on the bike with coffee afterwards.

I would only take it extremely slowly... "smell the roses" pace. We can stop along the route and view sites of the valley, etc., just spin the pedals in the easiest gear, soak up some suns rays and enjoy the morning.

Aaah.  So you're just riding to the T-junction.  Thought you were going the whole way to PMB.  That would have been a bit optimistic the day before the race!

120kms.  ±1800m of climbing.  We are doing it this Sunday.

No Daryl, not the whole way!! I meant just a tiny bit of the route!

BTW I'll be joining you on Sunday for the club ride to PMB. I'll be riding up from Pinetown to meet you there and then ride back afterwards, so my ride will be about 160 km. I've got a ride planned with 3000m climbing on Saturday, come join me for that... :)

That is such a nice description,  had that 'relaxed ride in the country side with flowers in my basket' image in my mind :)

This weekend's weather looks good.  Great to scoot out early with the road closures for Trirock and do the Oscars to Camperdown route next weekend.

Can still squeeze one last sub3 in from CL ;)

Not if you have seen my preparation...

I've been running during winter haven't touched the bike at all.

Will have to ride with my head and not my legs this time around.
