that's the sad bit. the illegal trails were simply fantastic in that regard: more steep than usual, more off-camber than anywhere else in tokai, nice and raw.... was just too much fun. *sigh*

haha, no man, I am talking about unused sections of the mountain where new trails could be put in with somthing similar in gradient.

For example, Bridal path, that hill is fairly steep and a revised line would do the trick there, another one would be the hill above cobra

I would love to design a steep insane trail somewhere but alas

Track walk today!

Seems the Vital boys have already snuck a couple pics of the track. Looks good!

The Euro's are blessed with chair lift access into steep terrain thanks to the ski resorts and I'm sure Lourdes is plenty steep. That section where he enters the woods you start to get a feel for the gradient by looking at the trees.

The hill that Champery DH track is on is crazy steep. Even the ride down from the lift to the start of the track is steep. We in SA don't really have a feel for just how steep the tracks are. There are sections on the track where once you drop in you are fully committed until you make the next catch berm and can get in control of your speed. I can't wrap my head around how you  would 'race' that track.

I'm sure the average steepness of the track is also reduced as the very bottom of the track, which 'flattens' out quite a bit leading to the finish area.

Holy cow! That's so steep that even the clouds are too afraid to go up there...

Yeah, it's one thing to see it in a photo or video and another to ride it. When we were in Leogang last year and just walked next to the track, I realised how insane the gradient is in some places. Some sections we couldn't really walk down, we had to climb down. I can only imagine how intimidating Champery must be...
