Hate to admit it, but that is what the road bike is for

I am with the road bike impaired unfortunately.... so I did about 120km of mixed Road and offroad yesterday on the MTB... and it aint no XC bike either

tapering off this week... starting with a rest day today and carb ramp up.

My first MM. Doing the 45km though - and stressing a bit.

Dropped the bike off today for a service and tubeless conversion.

Quite excited actually (and nervous).

When do we get race numbers etc..? This is only my second event. Last was Emporers and wondering if MM works the same - or do you just get everything when you arrive?

I am driving out from Edenvale if anyone needs a lift. Going on my lonesome so got space.

You get it the night before at the venue or the morning of the race.

Don't think I'm going to wear a jacket. Just my arm protectors and I'll be ready to roll. I'm hoping to avoid taking my Camelbak with me, so I don't want to struggle with a jacket once the mercury starts to rise.

You'll be warm after the climb thru the resort next to the dam.

Still no reply on this... ok suppose I will ride/walk it... :P

Was just thinking if I am gonna do arm warmers and leg warmers or what exactly... probably both and then will take off and stick in camelback later. :P

First MM and doing the big one also... EISH!

Speaking of which... what are the essentials to be carrying for this ride?

Any spares in particular a must?

Depending on your level of fitness .... a smallish bag of cement and some rule #5 ;)

Apparently insulation tape is also useful for sidewall cuts so I might take some just in case.

Duct tape is better, you can fix anything with it. Unwrap some from the role and wrap around one end of your pump. Works a charm ;)

Hey Guys, just wanted you opinion. I would really like to do the 75km. But not sure if I'm ready to to that distance yet. Longest MTB Race I've done was the 55km 94.7. My last ride on Sunday was two green laps at Thaba, about 35km's, but my leg's were dead at the end, took me 2:10 and I only rode with water.

Will I manage the 75km Monster with proper nutrition if I take it easy?
